Mazda Mazdaspeed3: What Is It Worth After a Wreck, and Who Will Buy It?

The Kia Soul EV took the questionable honor of being #1 in our “What Cars Get Wrecked the Most?” series. Now we move to #2, and this one couldn't be more different.

The Mazda Mazdaspeed3 came in second in the accident-rate data we examined for our original article, with 12.57% of drivers in the analyzed Insurify data having an accident on their record.

Before anybody starts blaming the turbocharger, that statistic doesn't mean 12.57% of all Mazdaspeed3s have been wrecked, nor does it prove the car itself causes accidents. It simply puts the model near the top of this particular accident-rate ranking.

But there's another reason the Mazdaspeed3 is interesting to DamageMAX: these cars aren't new anymore, and that can make the repair-or-sell decision considerably tougher.
